Mercureon policy
Researcher Agreement
Expectations for approved researchers using Mercureon funding tools.
Last updated May 14, 2026
Approval And Ongoing Eligibility
Researcher tools are available only after Mercureon approves a researcher application. Approval is not permanent if later conduct, content, payment risk, or campaign activity creates platform concerns.
Researchers must provide accurate identity, credential, affiliation, and research information. Material changes should be reflected in the researcher profile or campaign materials.
Campaign And Membership Responsibilities
Researchers are responsible for describing research goals, methods, risks, uncertainties, use of funds, expected outputs, timelines, and reward or update commitments accurately.
Campaign approval permits publication and pledge collection on Mercureon, but it does not mean Mercureon has independently verified every claim or endorsed the research outcome.
Researchers must not promise guaranteed discoveries, clinical outcomes, investment returns, regulatory approvals, or benefits that are outside their control.
Funds And Payouts
Researchers must complete Stripe Connect onboarding and maintain payout eligibility before receiving funds through Mercureon.
Researchers are responsible for applicable taxes, institutional obligations, grant or employment restrictions, reward fulfillment, and legal or ethical requirements connected to their work.
Mercureon may pause payouts, campaign activity, or researcher tools when there are disputes, refunds, chargebacks, policy concerns, legal requests, or payment provider restrictions.
Updates And Supporter Trust
Researchers should provide honest updates about progress, delays, changes in scope, negative results, and material risks. Lack of progress does not remove the obligation to communicate clearly with supporters.
Researchers must use comments and supporter communication in a professional way and may not harass, mislead, retaliate against, or pressure supporters.
